UAV Ground Segment System
Providing you with outstanding flexibility.
Flexibility means the ability to scale back or introduce functionality as needed to suit the user - from a single soldier who only wants to know what is over the next hill, to an organisation of users on the web, each with their own real-time ISR requirements.
Using the Blue Bear UAV Ground Segment System, a Ground Segment can be as simple as a single in-field laptop and datalink for vehicle tasking and management (i.e. a traditional Ground Station), or it can be extended by means of a secure web service to enable dissemination of information to any number of clients on the web.
The most basic element of the Ground Segment System is the Ground Station. This consists of software hosted on a ruggedised laptop, and a radio link to one or more vehicles. The Ground Station presents a user interface typically configured as a simple moving map, which is used to plan and monitor vehicle progress. Sensor feeds are displayed in real time and can be logged for later review.
The Ground Station may be optionally extended with a short range Remote Viewing Terminal, a hand-held device allowing users to monitor sensor feeds and vehicle telemetry whilst not physically at the Ground Station.
The Ground Station is currently compatible with any vehicle flying a SNAP miniature UAV autopilot.
